Client Overview
Well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the local community, with a collaborative Finance team. Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Finance department with high-volume accounts payable processing and general accounting functions.

$30/hr
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist will support the Finance department with high-volume accounts payable processing and general accounting functions. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.
Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist
Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.
Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system.
Perform three-way matching (invoices, purchase orders, receiving documents).
Ensure timely vendor payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Maintain organized AP records and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end close and other accounting functions as needed.
Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve payment issues.
Support the Controller and Finance team with additional projects.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist:
3+ years of high-volume accounts payable experience.
Invoice coding and three-way matching experience.
Strong AP best practices knowledge.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar ERP) experience.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant / Accounts Payable Specialist:
Bookkeeping experience with a strong AP focus.
Nonprofit experience.
Staff accounting experience.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
